The High Pressure Gas Safety Institute of Japan (KHK) was established in 1963 under the High Pressure Gas Safety Law and in 1986 became a private entity specializing in high-pressure gas safety. Its purpose is to contribute to the prevention of accidents involving high-pressure gas by providing investigation, research, and guidance related to high-pressure gas safety and by performing relevant inspections and other services.
KHK formulated its "Management Principles " and "Code of Conduct" (see below) to improve the efficiency of its operations as it seeks to fulfill its objectives. The Institute is involved in a wide range of activities that include inspections of high-pressure gas equipment, safety education programs for safety officers and others at companies that use high-pressure gas, accident investigations, and technical cooperation for other countries.
I hope that you will make use of our web site to deepen your understanding of the activities of KHK and that this web site will aid you in your high-pressure gas safety programs.
